What is n8n?

n8n is a workflow automation platform: processes are assembled from individual building blocks, a trigger starts the workflow, followed by steps such as API calls, database operations, branching logic or AI calls. Ready-made connectors for common tools are built in, from CRM to email systems to databases. Where a connector is missing, we write it ourselves, since n8n allows custom JavaScript at any point in a workflow.

The key difference to Zapier or Make: n8n can run entirely on your own server. Anyone searching for an n8n alternative is usually looking in the wrong direction. n8n is the alternative, for everyone who finds cloud tools too expensive or too opaque.

Why we standardise on n8n

Three reasons. Cloud providers charge per execution, so the bill grows with your volume, while a self-hosted n8n instance has no per-execution cost. Your data does not pass through third-party servers but stays on infrastructure you control. And n8n can be extended with custom code: where standard nodes end, our projects do not.

To be clear, n8n is a tool, not an end in itself. Whether a process should be automated at all is something we settle first, in a free initial call.

What you get

A workflow that runs for three weeks and then silently stops is worthless. So we do not ship hobby builds, we ship systems with clear rules:

Persistent state lives in PostgreSQL or NocoDB, not inside the workflow itself. That sounds like a detail, but it decides whether an automation survives a restart or loses data.

Our automations run on our own infrastructure, not in US clouds. n8n self-hosted, PostgreSQL as the database, NocoDB as an interface for everyone on the team who prefers not to open a SQL console. When personal data flows through workflows, from CRM, accounting or support systems, server location becomes a compliance question. We plan data protection in from the start instead of bolting it on later.
